EFSA International Retail Event 2024

The world is changing rapidly. Also in our business we need to innovate, make it more sustainable, find new business models and face the future. How do consumers act these days and what do they expect from retailers and their suppliers? Do they only talk about sustainability or will they also act on it? How does Generation Z think, shop and work? Is the sharing economy the future and what can we do with the use of technology in our sector? A lot of challenges, but even more chances for retailers in the garden center business.

How valuable it is to discuss this with leading fellow garden retailers and suppliers from all over Europe. After all, these issues are important to all industry colleagues at home and abroad. We can learn a lot from each other!

28 leading suppliers, connected in Efsa, organize a two day event of talking, listening, watching and gaining inspiration. The future of our industry is not the responsibility of retailers or suppliers alone. It is a chain issue and that is why we find it valuable to look to the future together.

First edition
In 2024 we have had our first edition of this event and it was a real success!

On the first day we have had presentations of leading retailers within our industry and outside of our industry, such as Peter Paul Kleinbussink, director of Intratuin Nederland and Hans Geels, CEO of Dille & Kamille. They shared their insights and future steps in our industry.  Kristel Vanderlinden of Futurekind took us by the hand on changing consumer behaviour.

The second day we went on tour and  visited 3 interesting (garden) retailers to learn, get inspired and share insights.

Next year
In 2025 we again organize this event on March 11 and 12.
